…Will James, cowboy, cattle rustler, and beloved author and artist of the American West came West in 1907 at the age of fifteen. James showed artistic talent from an early age, and gained a reputation for his sketches of life on the range long before publishing his first work. It was while in prison in Nevada for cattle rustling that he made the decision to make writing and drawing the West his life’s work…
Come by the Special Collections exhibit room on the third floor of the Knowledge Center anytime during regular Special Collections hours to see James’s work and learn more about this fascinating character’s experience of one part of the “Old West.” The exhibit will be in place through June.
