Earlier this week saw the installation of a new display in the front lobby of the Knowledge Center, just by the Southern entrance, across from the Book Nook.

I am talking, of course, about the concrete canoe that last June scored our UNR team, Argentum, a first-place showing in the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) 21st annual National Concrete Canoe Competition.

Accompanying the canoe, itself, is a display detailing the process for constructing a concrete canoe. Upon said display table sits a cut-away version of such a canoe illustrating its interior makeup.
